ACP Summer School

The ACP Summer School 2010 will be held in the Centre Paul Langevin (Aussois, France) from May 3rd to May 7th 2010. The school will be on Constraint Programming: Introduction and Perspectives.

Constraint Programming

Constraint Programming (CP) is a programming paradigm for modeling and solving constrained optimisation problems, such as complex resource planning, scheduling, configuration and design problems. The success of CP comes from the fact that it provides high level languages to declaratively model problems by means of constraints, and efficient search procedures to automatically solve these problems.

The summer school aims at introducing the grounds of CP as well as more challenging research areas of CP. The program of the school will include the following courses:

ACP

The Association for Constraint Programming (ACP) is a non-profit association aiming at promoting constraint programming in every aspect of the scientific world. It encourages its theoretical and practical developments, its teaching in the academic institutions, its adoption in the industrial world, and its use in the the application fields.

Every year, the ACP supports the organization of the ACP Summer School to augment and complement University teaching of CP, and to disseminate a core body of CP knowledge supporting the recognition of CP as a mature and relevant technology for use in industry.

Organisers

The summer school is organised by Yves Deville (Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium) and Christine Solnon (Université de Lyon, France).
